Moving across the country can be really scary. I know when I first moved here one of my fears was that I would never make any new friends. Thankfully, within the first few months, Matt & I began meeting some really amazing people. It's hard to believe that the friends we have here in Arizona have been part of our lives for such a short time. I'm so thankful to have met them!

SO...two of those amazing (no longer new!) friends are Brett and LIz. Also, Joiee. I was really excited when they asked me to take some family pictures of them because, A) They are obviously an awesome couple and B) I am in love with their dog, Joiee. We hung out in a grassy (what??) area in Scottsdale and spent some time taking pictures, hanging out and distracting Joiee from the "water kitties".

Brooke & Ian

Brooke contacted me several months ago about doing a portrait session with her and her boyfriend. I drove up to Prescott for the session, and it was gorgeous! This was my first time visiting Prescott, and I have to say that it definitely remined me of home. It had all the makings of small town Ohio--a town square, cool weather, leaves on the ground(!!!)...needless to say, it was a bit of a change from Phoenix.

Brooke and Ian are an awesome couple. We took pictures all around town with their two dogs. My favorite part of the session was definitely Brooke's fun idea to take "nerdy pictures". She brought a change of clothes for both of them and they really got their nerd on. Absolutely loved this session, and I had a hard time picking which photos I should feature on the blog!

Thanks for being such a fun and creative couple! 

I have to end on this last photo, because it may be my favorite of the whole bunch. Ian, you were such a great sport!

Haute Live Event

Last week, I had the opportunity to take photographs for Haute Live, an event that raised money for Phoenix Children's Hospital. There was a Neiman Marcus fashion show, dancing and delicious food and drinks. The successful event raised money for The Emily Center, a pediatric health library inside the hospital. 

I had so much fun taking pictures during the runway show. This was the first time I have photographed any type of fashion show, and I wasn't sure what to expect. The Paradise Valley residence was absolutely gorgeous, and fully decked out for the fashion show. The runway went over the pool, while people watched from all sides. The models were amazing, and the fashion was fabulous! So glad I got to be a part of the fun!

 

Press Food Truck

For the last few months, I've been working on a special project for an up and coming local business--Press Food Truck. This gourmet food truck will feature a favorite Italian street food, pressed sandwiches. After taste-testing several of the truck's sandwiches, I can say that I will most definitely be eating there often. Sandwiches from Press are crafted from high quality ingredients and packed with flavor. My personal favorite is the chicken sandwich, which consists of roasted chicken, spinach and apples. Served with a side of crispy potatoes, you can be sure you won't leave hungry.
